I was born in Oceanside, California. The sports I like the most seem to be the ones that come along with the worst injuries: snowboarding, wakeboarding, riding dirt bikes, and golf. I grew up in Hood River, Oregon and rode at Mt. Hood Meadows through junior high and high school. I’ve been riding for twelve years and competing for nine. I live in Boise, Idaho now and I’m currently riding on Atomic Axum and love it. I ride for the coolest shop in Boise, The Board Room. I would have to say a perfect day for me is being on the mountain with my friends.

To me, the best thing about skateboarding is it’s complete freedom. I can do what I want and skate what I want. There’s no bro’s or soccer moms, just me and my skate. I love to skate street, tranny and handrails. Anything bigger than a 9 stair = death for me! Favorite tricks include crail slides, crooks and switch nose grinds. My favorite place to skate is really anywhere, I just love to shred. Favorite music I am listening to currently includes RjD2, NAS, Junky XL or anything that get’s me grooving. I spend 80% of my daily life thinking about Art and/or skateboarding. My guilty pleasure is drinking Chocolate Milk in the shower. See you on the dance floor!

I love to skate! I currently reside in Meridian, ID. I began skating when I was in 6th Grade. When I first started, I was very surprised with how had it was to do even a simple trick. I think that is what has kept me going all these years. Skating grounds me and has helped me become who I am today. Spending hours and hours trying to perfect that one trick I set out to learn, the feeling is absolutely indescribable. I like everything from pushing down the street to carving bowls and jumping down stairs. I am not picky when it comes to skating, I just want to get out there, have fun and learn new things! As long as I am riding my board, I am hyped! There are many skateboards I look up to including but not limited to: Cory Kennedy, Shane O’Neill and Shane Cross (RIP) as they all inspire me. When it comes to music, I like anything I can jam to. Music will always be a big part of everyone’ lives, but it really is my motivation for life in general. Artists I spend most of my time listening to include: Lil Wayne, Drake, Mumford and Sons, MGMT, Modest Mouse, Pantera and The Bravery as well as anything my girl is listening to. Something, not many people know about me (yet!) is that one of my guilty pleasures is watching chick flicks with my girlfriend. In conclusion, I have lived for skating for so much of my life and I enjoy every second of it. I plan on skating for as long as I possibly can! Thanks for reading a little bit about me, I hope everyone has as much fun skateboarding as I do!

YO! TJ Hughes here and I shred the gnarr. I have been skateboarding for the last 9 years now and I will never stop. Skateboarding for me isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way of life. Everything I do revolves around skateboarding. I am always stoked to be on my skateboard and you will never see me upset, have an attitude or ever see me break a skateboard on purpose. I skate them until they are dead and then get a new one. I like to think that I am cool with all the skaters, bikers and bladers in the Boise scene, but who knows. We are all in this scene together, and getting along with each other always makes for a better time. I think that most people in Boise get along pretty well because everyone seems to know everyone. There will always be a few kids with negative attitudes that we cannot change. It’s just kids being kids and they will eventually grow out of it.

I have worked at The Boardroom as a Buyer and the Skateboard Team Manager for 4 years now and love every bit of it. For that, I have to throw out a huge thank you to Chris Heise for making it all possible, to be able to work within the sport and industry I love. He has shown me a bigger side of skateboarding than I could have ever imagined. In 2008, I attended one of the last ASR Tradeshows which blew my mind. From seeing the level of California skateboarding, to seeing pro skaters that have shaped the way we see skateboarding today. I have met Jamie Thomas, Chris Cole, Lindsey Robertson, Corey Duffle, Chet Thomas, Rodney Mullen and the legend himself, Steve Caballero. That will always be one of my most memorable trips.

In the summer of 2009, I taught skateboard lessons for the YMCA. This opportunity along with my position at The Boardroom has changed the way I see skateboarders in the community. Before this, I could go to a skatepark and keep to myself and hang out with friends. Now, I go to a skatepark and feel the urge to to talk to kids and show them a trick tip or two. It made me want to help out the kid that was at the park trying to figure out a trick. Just seeing how fast some of these little groms catch on is incredible! You show a kid a trick, and a week later he can do it better than you. That’s progression at it’s finest. So if you’re reading this and need a trick tip, hit me up ha!

All in all skateboarding has made me who I am today. I couldn’t imagine a life without this simple piece of wood underneath my feet. I’d probably be working at a fast food joint, going paycheck to paycheck, drinking Kool-Aid, allergic to sunlight, playing Dungeons and Dragons, living at home and looking like a hairy raisin. So… Get off the couch, grab a skateboard and stick to it, you’ll never regret it. Peace I’m out!!!!

Then capping it off with a smooth edit.

Hey Hey, Riley here. I’ve been skating ever since I was 4 years old. I’m now 12 years old and prefer boards 7.75″-7.8″ range. My favorite shoes are Vans styles from the late 60′s to early 80′s and I am currently a kids size 3 and mens size 4. The only pants I wear are Levis skinny jeans, but they are always loose fitting on me so it isn’t too gay. The thing I like most about skateboarding is that it doesn’t matter how tall you are. For example, I am 4′ 8″ and shred harder than any other 12 year olds I have met or know. On the other hand, Tony Hawk is 6+” tall and is an amazing skateboarder!
I’m an ok street skater but I rip at tranny like no other. I rip up Logan, UT and Fort Boise parks with my moms boyfriend, Scott. My favorite trick that I have learned so far, is a kickflip melon over a 4′ tall trash can in Logan, UT. I don’t listen to a lot of music, but when I do, I like to listen to Afroman, Metallica, Mickey Avalon and Megadeath. The person who inspires me most is David Gravett, because he skated the same stuff that I live on, like I live next to a few perfect skate spots and my nieghbor has a pool we skate. One of the most embarrassing things that i’ve done is singing Baby by Justin Bieber!

What up? I’m Bo Montgomery and I have been skating for about 11 years now. Skateboarding is definitely my passion. I’ll skate til I can’t walk. No rules, no boundaries, no time limits…a true example of poetry in motion. I love to teach younger kids how to skate as well. I mean, look at Jake Jacobs, he’s my little cousin and he is on the team too. I always find myself getting a new board before I need one just so I can hand one down to the kid at the park that is riding the most haggard one at the time. I’ll do everything I possibly can to keep skateboarding fun and popular. Some kids are unfortunate and need the “hand me downs” and I’m always willing to help whenever possible. If any kids ever have questions about how to do a trick you see me doing, please don’t hesitate to ask. Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for now. Hope to see you guys on the streets. Peace

It’s funny funny how i look at my past when i started to skate. I was 14 when i picked up a board when i went to  my friends house across the street from my house, but this dude was a biker and I looked around his garage and i found a weak set up and got on it. I was the only Mexican bombing down hills with G-Unit Mids in the sub division that i lived in. Ever since then i started to go to the park then i got the hang of it after i tried my first 50-50; I know that i had to progress and have fun with it. I currently live and skate in Nampa, I love it here and most people are the other way around. I love it, experienced everything here. I look up to the kids at the park, one reason is that they want me to do something new every day and push me till i get it, and half the time I just get over it and I just do old school stuff around the park, but when it’s a good sesh i have to land it no matter what. I love to listen to Grizzly Bear, The Meligroveband, Mellowdrone, and some lil wayne when i feel it haha. I’m pretty chill person to skate with, but i love to mess around.

After high school I took a couple years to go ride in some different places. I was fortunate enough to be able to ride Brighton for a season, and Steamboat and Breck last year. Now I”m back in Boise and couldn’t be more stoked! I love snowboarding and the friendships and memories it creates. Nothing makes me happier in this world than being on top of a mountain with all the kids I grew up learning this with, there’s nothing else like it!

I’m from Middleton, Idaho. I grew up on skis, chasing my parents down the mountain before i could even ride a bike. For my 11th birthday my parents gave me a snowboard, I was never going back to skis after that first season. I lead my high school ski and snowboard team during my junior and senior years at Middleton High, also taking trips to Grand Targhee both years. I traveled to Whistler Blackcomb in BC shortly after that, only to learn that this is what I want to be doing for the rest of my life until I am phisically unable. Now I am spending my winters shredding as much as possible, traveling to new locations, and having the best time possible with all of my friends!
